HVAC Pipe Sizer - Gas Low 4.5

The "HVAC Pipe Sizer - Gas Low" application provides a practical tool for sizing low-pressure (below 1.5 psi) gas piping systems efficiently by inputting relevant piping and gas properties.

Users can specify the total gas flow in cubic feet per hour (or cubic meters per hour) and select one of three parameters: pressure drop (in inches of water gauge or Pascals), internal pipe diameter (inches), or gas velocity (feet per second). The application then calculates both the precise and nominal pipe diameters, along with gas velocity and the total equivalent pipe length. For existing piping systems, there is an option to input the current internal diameter and either pressure drop or gas velocity to determine the flow rate and other associated parameters.

The tool allows for additional customization, including selection of gas type and properties, pipe material, total pipe length, and quantities for up to eleven different pipe fittings. It also offers the flexibility to display measurement values in either imperial or metric units.

This version incorporates predefined pipe fitting equivalent length charts and nominal pipe sizing data applicable across various pipe materials and diameters, enhancing both accuracy and comprehensiveness.

The application employs slider controls for rapid adjustment of input variables, enabling immediate computation of results. Users can also manually input exact values for precision analysis.
